Predictions Made About: Aiel

Rating: 4.5

Benduin (the Shaido clan chief sent to Ruidean) will arrive after Avi's second trip. He will see the future too and this will cause him to redeem the Shaido by joining Rand and fighting for the light in the last battle. The Shaido who survive the last battle are the remnant of a remnant

I predict that the red-veiled Aiel from ToM will be revealed to be a number of the Shaido that Sammael scattered from Ghealdan to Illian prior to the battle of Dumai's Wells in ACoS.

The Aiel will find that they have fulfilled their toh by fighting in the Last Battle, and will return to their ancient places as servants of Aes Sedai. But this group will be even smaller than the Aiel who fought on the side of the Light, as many can not accept returning to a life so different from the one they led. This will be the remnant of a remnant which will survive beyond the Last Battle.

By Lissie on 2011-05-09

The remnant of a remnant is really referring to the Aiel who still live like the Aiel did when Rand first encountered them: meaning that the Shaido who returned to the Waste, after their disaster at Malden, will be the remnant of a remnant referred to in their prophecies.

The Aiel will become the peace keepers after LB is over. After the LB even with Dragon's peace there are still fighting between counties. Rand will ask Aiel to be peace keeps of the world when there is fighting between countries Aiel will appear and defeat both sides and stop the fighting. As time goes on Aiel will be connect to Peace and eventually when the Aiel shows up there will be peace without fighting and eventually there will be no need for the Aiel but the name will remain and the bloodline will continue.

The Aiel will be the blood spilled on Shayol Ghul in defense of Rand and whomever goes in with him. This will leave a remnant of them, as predicted, and their deaths will be their failure to the Aes Sedai, as the AS will be wiped out, as well.

In the last battle, almost all, or all of the aiel, and tinkers will be killed in the fight, except for Avhienda, who will have Rand's kids, allowing the aiel to live on as a remnant of a remnant.

The aiel will realize after the LB that the remnant of a remnant had been fulfilled before the LB. When rand told them how they used to be Tinkers. Those who left to follow Couladin left a remnant, then those lost to the bleakness left a remnant of a remnant. I think it means that a remnant of a remnant will be left to follow the cara'carn.

By banner general1 on 2007-01-13

The remnant of a remnant will be Avhienda and her children. The Shaido will march with the rest of the Aiel to the LB where all shall die, even the tinkers who march to the LB to somehow win the battle by singing the song of the Nym after someone (perhaps Perrin) discovers it.

The remnant of a remnant of Aiel that will survive TG will be the Aiel that do not leave the white of Gaishan after thier year and a day. They may possibly join up with the traveling people.

The Aiel and tinkers merge and they find the song that the tinker's have been seeking, and it is somehow crucial to winning the TG. POssibly it is what Herid Fel found and died for.

I believe the Shaido Aeil will make it all the way back to the waste and be the remnant of a remnant that survive the breaking. All the other aeil will die due them being involved on the big raid against Shayul Ghul. Leaving Galina to change the aeil views about aes sedai somehow.

The "Remenent of a Remnent" only partailly refers to the people, it also refers to the culture. those aiel that joined the tinkers will bring ji'e'toh to them. the tinkers will follow both the way of the leaf and Ji'e'toh. since the tinkers have been mixing blood they are no longer aiel, but the aiel are pure blood. they will mix creating the "remnant of a remnant" A small remnant of the origonal and modern aiel

By Garayur on 2005-07-06

The Shaido will be destroyed completely. Mainly due to the fact that they do not have an up and coming good 'un in the ranks, such as Galad for the Whitecloaks, Tuon for Seanchan, Logain for Asha'man.

The remnant of a remnant is NOT the Tinkers, but the Far Dareis Mai and the Wise Ones. Some of the Maidens will lay down the spear and marry, thus continuing the Aiel line.
**Proof? Rand and his obsession with not hurting women. His bloody list proves that. in TG, the DO will strike at the PotD (the Aiel), and he will instinctively try to save the Far Dareis Mai (No doubt they will be angry at him for it, too) :D The Wise Ones save themselves.

When Rand goes to Rhuidian and views all past history of his Aiel ancestors there is a battle scene where the Aiel march of weaponless(way of the leaf) and singing into one of the DOs armies and some huge number are all killed. I think that this is what the Aiel are going to do at Tarmon Giodon. The remenant that will be saved will the 4 children that Rand is supposedly suppost to have with Aviendha.

I completely agree with Stanzi. I think Galad will come through morally, his ambitions are noble, but have been twisted in the C.o.t.L. But he will gain a following and take over the Children, and he will proceed to make another decision to dedicate his army to Rand, half-brother thing, and the truth that Tarmon-Gaidon is the ultimate evil, they will rally against the same enemy.

Ok this might sound a little bizzare but I think Morgase will get her throne back. I know she abdicated in CoS and that it is "irreversible". Everyone knows that the nobles in WoT play the game of houses like everyone else breaths. So my thoughts are that she'll end up back in Caemlyn and the Andoran people will accept her back after being told an abreviated (and slightly altered) tale of her adventures. As for the whole abdication thing, I think you could get around it. Morgase forswore her throne and her position as high seat of Trakand. This means that she is still a part of Trakand and therefore if Elayne surrenders both positions then theoreticaly anyway Morgase would have her throne back.
