Predictions Made About: General Plots

A lot of people think the last words of AMoL will be "it wasn't the end but it was an end" I disagree. RJ said the last word would likely be time. I think Sanderson will go with RJs statement. The last line will be "there are neither beginnings nor endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time"

I believe that Rand will reseal the Dark One and then die and then the same thing will happen again and again and again as the wheel revolves like it says in the BOOK rather than the ad hominen theories some people have on here. But as the nature of the plot of WoT we will be left to doubt this, some what similar to the end of the Mad Max Thunderdome where he is walking towards the safe refuge the children found in the distance.

Rand will find a way to rescue Lanfear/Mierin/Cyndane because she is the one who first found the Dark One and she was clearly part of the team that bored into the Dark One's prison, as seen in Rand's ancestor's memories. Rand will realize he needs her help to reseal the Bore, making the Dark One's prison whole.

I believe the light of the world is Saidar and Saidin. Mat will have to give up Saidin to resurrect Rand, which will save the world. Both halves of the one power will have to be eventually sealed away to give birth to our current age which is referenced in the Age of Legends mythology. The title to the last book, Memory of light is reference to the loss of both halfs of the One Power which will be sacrificed to seal the Dark One. Perhaps the one power will just fade instead blink out but it will surely be gone at the conclusion of the series.

This prediction concerns Gawyn, Egwene, Evanellein and the Bloodknives. I predict that Evanellein was killed by one of the four remaining Bloodknives. Further, Egwene will be threatened by one of the Bloodknives. As she is about to be killed, Gawyn will appear on the scene and kill the Bloodknive. After this, Egwene will bond Gawyn as her Warder. This scene will fufill the viewing of Egwene being in danger and if a door closes, she will die. I do not believe this viewing was fufilled in TSG. When Gawyn reached Egwene, she was not in mortal danger.

The three ta'veren will reunite in Altara, and we will probably see Thom heavily damaged by Morgase (after all Perrin is bringing her along as his servant and Thom is with Mat), Mat will tell Rand that Moiraine is still alive (this alone would drive Rand either to laughter/tears/both), and Rand will meet his father as well, and... So much is going to happen then.

Rand to balefire Lanfear and remove her from the Wheel of Time. If Rand balefires Lanfear, it will be as she never existed. She was one of the two "Chosen" of drill the bore into the prison. If Rand remove both of them with balefire, the bore would not have been drilled. The clue to this is Rand's hatred of the thought of killing a women. What would be the most difficult thing for Rand to overcome? Plotting and intentionally killing a women. Lanfear is the key to defeating the Dark One. To hope to beat the Dark One in direct contest is futile. But, as they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. Or in this case, defeat the Dark One. I am new to this board, and I am sure someone has had this predition before, but I would like to hear why others do or do not believe this is a possible ending to the series.

Thank you in advance.

I hope that Herid Fel's note "have to clear rubble before building" means that the Dark One's old prison malfunctions and cannot be patched anymore, so Rand will have to destroy the old prison and build an entirely new one made of cuendillar. Such a move would be extremely dangerous and quite entertaining for us, readers. :)

In "A Memory of Light", it will most likely come to pass that Rand will be captured at one point by the dark. He will face the possibility of being turned to the dark (perhaps by the 13 black Aes Sedai riding with the borderlanders?) and here is where Alivia will step in. She will kill Rand with the one power (or by some other means) and manage to escape. In the meantime, all the ladies (and Moridin, for that matter) that share Rand's head will feel him die. Word will spread and all will think that everything is lost. Alivia will eventually make it back to one of the light-channelers factions and demand that they balefire her -- and voila! Rand is back. Any guesses whether his death and rebirth will sever some of the ties in his head? My guess is that Alanna and Moridin get the boot, Lews Therin becomes fully integrated from the shock of it all, and yet somehow the triple-bond that is more than a bond will somehow remain unsevered – or not.

Someone asked RJ if Avi's gateway in FOH led to a point in the past and he said RAFO. If SO, then the spear rand had that was carved with dragons was an "ancient" spear. It was destroyed in the Semmy scene and so it wasnt until that point that it served it's purpose. So, what was it's purpose? The suldam saw it and will report to the DofNM what they saw and it in some way fulfills a seanchan prophecy of some sort. And this will cause the seanchan to bend knee to the Dragon.

First Mat will help Thom go save Moiraine, here he will encounter Slayer inside of the Tower of Ghenjei nad kill him. Then Mat will go see the Tower(Egwene as Amrylin) so Egwene can give him the horn. He will help devise the attack/defence plans of TG. He will sound the horn and lead the Seanchan and the Band for their respective parts in TG.

Rand will be hopping around putting out fires and reinforcing the lands. Taim will turn against him with about half of the Asha'man. This will kill all of the Asha'man except the ones with Rand (Narishma, Flinn ect). He will go around trying to kill forsaken as well.

Perrin, well he will rejoin with Rand and will help lead the Borderland with Lan. He will also raise Manetheren and lead the people there (all hail lord Goldeneyes!). Morgase will go to Andor and help Elayne.

I think the seals (or seal) will stay sealed. Moridin definitly has something up his sleve(we saw that in CoS) and something strange will happen to him. I think all the Aes Sedai will ride against the Dreadlords and Black Sisters. I think Sammael will be reborn as an Asha'man aswell (Moridin said he resurfaced in KoD).

The Last Battle - Matchups :
Fain vs Shadar Haran (evil vs evil)
Mat vs Slayer (only two on even terms without the power)
Rand vs Demandred (the only male forsaken he has yet to battle) & TDO
Logain vs Moridin? (the future vs the past)
Nynaeve vs Halima (will be offended by a male soul in female body!!
-then has to defend herself against Moghedian
Alivia vs Semirhage (destroyer vs healer)
-rescues Nynaeve from Moghedian
Jahar Narishma vs Graendal (he who follows after – someone's got to kill the female forsaken)
Notes :
-Golam will have broken free of it's bonds – not sure who it'll kill
-Mesaana will be discovered by Egwene, and caught by Aes Sedai just prior to TLB
- Loial will get the Ogier to TLB. They will arrive late, but just in time to turn the tide against the hordes of trollocs.

All 3 ta'veren are heading towards the same area. Rand will be captured/collared by the Fake DotNM/Seanchan, (causing Masema to go 'mad'???) Perrin will see Rand during his negotiations and rescue Rand, and as they leave (can't make gateway as don't know the area, and too many people to skim), they run into Mat - Rand meets the real DotNM, and she, having first met her husband, and then found him to be a personal friend of TDR, submits to fate, hence Rand 'binding the nine moons to serve him'

The South West (Tarabon, Amadacia, Altara and the Almoth Plain) will be led by Mat and Tuon.
