he New Dragon's Soul

by Shadow Bane: 2003-07-15 | Not yet rated

Previous Categories: The Wheel of Time

This theory concerns the soul of the Dragon, and other souls in general.

First a few observations. What is the deal with Lews Therin Telamon? Of the thousands of dragon's he is the form his soul takes in T'A'R. Why? He is no more significant than any other of the dragons. What about Hawkwing? He must be a very new hero as he has only lived once, or he to takes on his latest appearance in T'A'R. Why does Hawkwing lead the hereos? Finally why are Perrin and Mat bound to Rand (the tripod thing) if there souls are not hereos?

After a lot of thinking I have come to a conclusion. A Hereos soul lives a thousand lives, but the life in which it has the biggest impact is the persona the soul takes in T'A'R. This would explain the appearance of LTT and HW in T'A'R, LTT sealed the Bore and HW ruled a vast empire and shaped history, he also is responsible for the Seanchan. They are not more significant than there other soul reincarnations they just had a bigger effect on the world.

so what about Rand, Mat and Perrin. This theory is a little...radical but just listen. Rand has refused to accept the part of himself that is LTT, the dragon. What if he succeded at TG, died and his soul split from the part that was the dragon's soul. That is Rand in denying the dragon became a new and different hero. Rand would make a new dragon soul. LTT would continue to exist in T'A'R and Rand would too as a new hero.

Now as for Mat and Perrin, they are new heroes that will be connected to the new dragon soul. Whenever Rand is born Mat and Perrin will be born within days. This new triad will be the light's champion/s. Because Rand Mat and Perrin will have such a huge effect on the world they will always be the form their souls take in T'A'R

Thats it so flame away!

No. There will be no soul-splitting. Rand is LTT, and LTT doesn't exist outside of Rand. Two personalities, one soul. If the body dies, the soul returns to the soul pool, or wherever the Heroes await rebirth, to await the will of the Wheel. Will the personality of LTT dissappear, after TG? Possibly, or will the personalities merge into one, most likely. Either way, there won't be a new soul created. Actually, Rand has started hearing a third voice, most likely the previous Dragon incarnation, which, given time, would probably produce a third personality.

RJ has said himself that the Heroes' souls take the form of their last incarnation in TAR. Somebody had him quoted in a thread like this either on the message board or on one of the recent Theories.

Tamyrlin is of course right, souls cannot split, lews therin and rand are one.

Mat, perrin, and Rand are all intertwined because they are all ta'veren. They are so closely intertwined that if one is cut they will all fall. They are all important to the last battle. Why? Because the wheel wills it.

I agree- i think mat and perrin may become new heroes (Mat at least ;)

I don't know about the three always being connected, and i don't think this is the first time their souls have been connected.

when the hero goes to tel arar.... screw it. dream world. the hero remembers all of their past lives. the dragon was lews therin most recently. names always change. bridget recalls many many many past names. so its not lews therin, its the dragon, with all of the dragons memories intact. wow, that would be enough to drive anyone bonkers.

As stated, Heroes take the last name they had in the RW and keep it in TAR.

Hawkwing most likely leads the Heroes simply because hes the second most powerful ta'veren (the Dragon being the strongest).

I think the tripod of Rand, Mat, and Perrin is a special 3rd Age quality. More needed to be done so 3 ta'veren.

Mat... definatly a new Hero in my opinion (Mat the Gambler, Mat Cauthon Son of Battles, Mat the Trickster... plenty more). Perrin... hey why not?

No. LTT and Rand wont split. Rand is LTT.

Perrin a hero tied to the horn? I think more likely he will be like Elyas. Walk the earth for many many years and then go to his wolf-brothers. Especially since Elyas will probably perish, possibly fighting DarkHounds? Mat? Definitely.

How can you say Perrin will become like Elyas and go to his Wolf brothers?

I think Faile would have something to say about that!.. The only way I can see that happening is if Perrin fails in his rescue of Faile (that sounds weird)and goes crazy or sumthing which I think we all agree would be pretty shite after all the time spent on that particular storyline. Perrin will be a hero for sure!

no need to argue about that: Perrin may very well get to spend some time of his life (though I don't think so) running with the wolves AND become a hero of the horn after he dies. hawkwing didn't have to die a soldier's death to become one... anyway, Perrin's big act will come after the great battle- he's a man of the people, a builder...

How can anyone say anything really? We are all just guessing. Who says Faile will live?
