Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Asmodean's Demise

RJ says we have all the clues to identify Asmo's killer. We must fall back upon that old axiom that when all other contingencies fail, whatever remains, however improbable, mustbe the truth. Requirements:

1) The person must be someone recognized by Asmo,
2) someone he didn't expect to see (and be terrified of),
3) someone that could be in Caemlyn at the time,
4) be able to kill Asmo near-instantaneously,
5) have a motive for the killing,
6) be able to dispose of the body, and
7) know of Asmo's fate.

All of the Foresaken fulfill 2, 4, 5, 6 if they were undisguised fulfill 1. They can satisfy 3 unless there is evidence to thecontrary. Most Foresaken fail for various reasons usu. 3. Lanfear - We have no evidence of her appearing in LOC. She probably fails 3 as she was most likely busy inside that twisted doorway. Sure it is possible that she got out and went to Caemlyn. But if there is another suspect that has no possible limitations, logically it would be they since we supposedly have all the clues. I don't have enough time and space to list, but you can eliminate everyone else for different reasons. The only character with no inhibitions is none other than Graendal. She tries to assure Sammael that Asmo is dead. Her visit to the Pit of doom is more interesting, since she doesn't mention Shaidar Haran. This tells us that her visit proceeded Asmo's death. This strengthens the theory that the DO ordered her to kill the traitor Asmo. Although the evidence is not completely conclusive and cases could be made for Lanfear, we are given no clues as to her behavior in LOC or ACoS, and with RJ's word that we have enough clues......I must rule her out.........Great job Tamyrlin!!
