Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Asmodean's Demise

I keep reading in Asmo's Death how people keep talking about how the two servants in Camelyn TAR. But wasn't the whole plan to bring Rand to Illian. Wasn't that why Melindrah (Mat's Shaido Black Maiden-or whatever her name was) attacked Mat? She drew her knife exactly when Mat revealed Rand's plan, something he thought about and knew he shouldn't have said, and her reaction, to try and immediatly kill Mat. This also goes along with the cutting one leg or Killing one close to "him" (Rand, of course). So while I like the theory that they were S & G, it just doesn't seem kosher to me.

Still on this subject: Who really knew where Asmo was. Lanfear, who did know he was with Rand, could not have just immediately gotten out of *finnland after she and Moi fell in.(Yeah I know it was a couple of days, but having two taveren in the doorway, plus Moi, was bad enough, Lanfear and Moi using huge amounts of the OP, possibly the TP if L gets desperate, would cause problems getting out. No I don't have proof, but nobody else has proof to the countrary. Since the timing was to close, I say no to Lanf.

I also don't think it was Messana either. Had we even met her yet in connection to anyone or any plans beside the quick comment that she had plans to bring Rand to heel, or to her ,etc.??

Demandred- there was a comment somehere that he was the only one given permission to use balefire. That is totally wrong. There is no mention of permission to use balefire, just that both sides used it and that then they both decided to not use it after the effects of that long ago battle in the AoL. Besides, that scene at SG is after FOH.

RJ-I think he's sitting at home with his wife and his computer laughing at all of us trying figure it out. STOP LAUGHING!!!!!!!!!!!BWHAHAHAHAHAHAH....sorry, I'm at work and really annoyed.

WO's- NONONONONONO they have no clue as to who he is.

Lan-gone

Mio-doesn't like, but understand's. (Siuan might if she ever had the opp.-No way in hell am I saying I think this, just a note on her personality and the situation she lived in at the WT.

AS- nah, same as the WO's

RJ's talk- I know what the long jump means when talking about dying, but the theme, the theme. Don't think you know everything, and don't imply or assume, just b/c you think it sounds right! I take everything that Rj say's with a grain of salt unless it is totally straight forward and precisely clear, not RJ clear. If he really does give us the clues...ha...then all I'm saying is that the removal of Asmo and the arrival of Taim is fishy. But I really wouldn't use the argument of supplanting one for the other b/c in POD (this is an "I think" statement, but I have read many others who would agree) that Aginor is Dashiva, and Taim, Black , Dem, or none of the above,(I say Dem) has no clue. Why not have both Dem and Asmo. One to teach the Ashaman, Dem, and while doing that keep tabs on Asmo. Dem may not know Asmo is Rand's Bard, but it seems in hindsight that the DO did.

I also agree that the whole scene with her going to SG and essentially being given Naeblis is fishy. It's just the same as Dem being asked if he will you use Balefire. It's a test to do something. For Dem it's a commitment to do things distasteful. He has agreed to do it, and thus the DO tells him the plans. He like what he hears so much that he doesn't care if SH sees him cry while he basks in the DO's whatever.

She was told, or asked, will you do X,Y, or Z. When she agrees to whatever was presented to her, she is all BUT promised to be NaeBlis. It's a carrot dangling on the nose, and as we can see in the POD, the DO is gathering his studs.

I don't think that I had ever considered the Taim/Demandred aspect with the killing of Asmo, although how would he have discovered who Asmodean was in time to take him out from under Rand's nose. One correction, never underestimate the Wise Ones. Their dreamers, and interpretation of dreams is quite accurate. They know much more than we are ever told.
