Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: What is Verin's 70 Year Plan?

Just a little interesting note to bring up. Verin did something in one of the books(I can't rember which one) that she should not have been able to. She channeled inside an Ogier stedding!!! This happened just after an Ogier had been trapped in the ways. She examined him with the One Power and yet no one thought there was anything wrong with this. Maybe I am on cheap crack but I swear it happened.

The reference to Verin channeling is on pg.515 in TGH. Alar the eldest of the elders in stedding Tsofu asked Verin to 'touch' Trayal the last Ogier to come out of the Ways. Verin lays her hands on his chest and recoils with a hiss and jumps back whipping to the elders saying He's empty His body lives but there's nothing inside. Channeling would be the only to find this....One question would a any type of angreal work in a stedding..The possibilties of Verin having a certain type of angreal are very likely. Maybe she used on e on Trayal, the young Ogier. Verin is one of the most intresting characters.

Thank you for the reference, that does then provide quite the quandry, I can only revert back to RJ's words when someone asked him about that, he said ,"RAFO, Read and Find Out." He knows something we don't know, but that is a great question, can you use a ter'angreal or an'greal in the stedding?

Malleus: 1998-06-20

In book 2 Verin appears to channel inside a steading. They are looking for a way to get from Carhien to Toman Head. They are in the stedding and the elders bring out an ogier that was lost in the ways. She touches him and then says that "There is nothing." She had to have channeled to know that. She has also lied. She told Perrin and Ingtar that Morraine sent her, but Moraine said that Verin came on her own. Now either Verin lied, Moraine lied, or someone came to Verin in Moraine's appearance.

This reference is better, although we don't know that Verin has not seen an Ogier or human being like him and recognizes the condition...I will have to go read it again.

Malleus: 1998-06-22

I still haven't looked up the reference, but it's in the second or third book. They are in the stedding addressing the Stump and the elders bring out the ogier. Verin put her hands on him and says that there is nothing there. They have not yet even gone to the waygate. Every indication from the passage is that she channeled. If someone doesn't look it up and find the exact reference I will do it when I get back from vacation.
