haidar Haran and Moridin and The Watcher

by Negrito: 1998-06-24 | Not yet rated

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Who helped Rand in Shadar Logoth?

Shaidar Haran is Moridin. Moridin is the watcher. I believe Shaidar Haran is Moridin because in chapter 25 of A Crown of Swords, she called Moridin Mia'cova, which is what she called Shaidar Haran. In chapter 20 of the same book, the watcher is know to use the true power. In chapter 40 Shaidar Haran was watching Sammael and Graendal which leads me to believe that he was the mysterious watcher. Also in the same passage, Shaidar Haran said that Sammael's plans were happening outside of THE plan and wondered if it would help chaos. I think this gives the motive for Moridin/Shaidar Haran/watcher to help Rand al'Thor in Shadar Logoth. His using the true power was the reason for the backlash and for Rand's inability to sense the use of the power. I don't think weaves can be inverted while in use. I think it only works when they've been knotted. This would exclude anyone that uses the one power. It can't be Lews Therin because Lews never came out in the flesh in any previous book, except in fires of heaven in tel'aran'rhiod, but that was Rand's body turning into Lews Therin's.

That is about the most convincing evidence that I have seen for Shaidar Haran and Moridin...but again, can he change his shape because Moghedien never described Moridin as a Myrrdraal? But if they are one in the same I would say you have a case.

Okay, I no this is sort of mean but all your ideas about it being moridin and shadar haran (osan'gar)are just crazy. First of all, Shadar haran is a MYRDRAAL!, second, moridin specificly says that he doesn not want to be called osan'gar, third Shadar Haran seems to say that he can't stay away from Shayol Ghoul for to long, so it wouldn't be likely that he was in Shadar logoth, unless he knew of Rand and Sammaels plan, in which case he would have to wait. Lastly mydraal can not dream (I'm building up to something...) so it would make some sense that they lack traits that other humans do. Also, there is this foolishness that the watcher is moridin. I highly doubt this. Why do you all think that? The watcher could be male of female (RJ always calls "it" The watcher) and more people other than moridin have been givin the right to channel the one power.

Moridin/Beidomon was not trapped with the rest of the foresaken when the bore was sealed. As I believe he is Beidomon he was a researcher and/or a maker before the breaking of the world and therefore would know about a vacuole and how to manipulate one so that time passed at a different rate (aCoS-p 398). This also is further evidence for my theory that Moridin is Beidomon and explains why he has been able to live so long. I disagree with "negrito's" conclusion that Moridin is Shaidar Haran as Moghedien called them both 'Mai'cova'. Mai'cova is merely a title bestowed upon the person who holds anothers mindtrap. Moghedien will call anyone who possesses her mindtrap Mai'cova as it translates to "One who owns me" (aCoS- p 397).
