at Is Possibly Artur Hawkwing

by Jaime Best: 1998-07-22 | Not yet rated

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Is Mat a hero reborn?

Mat is obviously the newest incarnation of a soul spun out by the wheel, time and time again. He may very well be a reborn hero, but who can say he's not any number of them? They weren't all alive at the same time. In a sense, Mat might have met some of his "selves" when he blew the horn. I personally believe that at least one, if not the only, personality Mat may be the newest form of is Artur Hawkwing. That possibility makes Mat's impending stay with the Seanchan the type of scenario that Mr. Jordan loves to spring on unsuspecting readers? Interesting, hmm? Let me know what y'all think. (It sounds like I may be the only person who has only read these books only once, so if I've made any glaring errors with this assumption, please be kind.)

Hmmm, I hadn't thought of that before. I am going to investigate something about that, it would make an interesting twist to the plot. For only having read the books once, you have made quite a good assumption.

Is he Artur Hawkwing? Good idea! But isnt it odd he dont remember being the Grate Artur Hawkwing. I think he would have remembered something. But as I said a jolly good idea. I havent read the book more than once either, I dont even own the books myself! But thats no reason to believe that you dont know just as mutch or even more than those who have read it over and over. But well just have to see, maybe he remembers something in the next book linking him to being Artur Hawkwing.
