aim and Fel's Last Note

by Asterin: 1998-07-14 | 1.33 out of 10 (3 votes)

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Who killed Fel and why?

Well, I think we can safely assume that the seals are holding in the taint...it's certainly been debated enough. Anyway, remember when Rand received the letter from Fel ("Must clear away rubble," etc., which I assume means Rand must destroy the seals and remake the patch): Taim showed up to kill the Gray Man. Rand dropped the parchment in surprise (blood and ashes, I've looked but I can't find the bloody page, if you find it post it)...but did he bother to pick it up? If Taim is Demandred (hotly debated, but possible, right?), he might have had a chance to see the note, and decide Fel was getting a little too nosy, and had to be...taken care of... Maybe a few things are missing, and other theories hold just as much merit, but I think this warrants a second look...

I think it does warrant looking in to. Because that is the most mysterious part, how they find out and how they had access to a gholam to remove a very defenseless old man. A thought, if Rand cleanses Saidin, why can't the DO just taint it again? If Rand reseals the DO, why can't he break free again. I think we have the seals partly wrong, there is something else that we haven't figured out about the seals...it will come to me one of these days.

I agree with Tamyrlin...there is definitely something on with the seals, but we don't have it right. Anyways, Asterin, I think you are wrong about Rand dropping that scrap of paper...Remember, Min asks Rand for the note, because it says... "Don't bring girl... too pretty." She also thinks about cherishing a note that Fel had written to Rand saying she was pretty. Rand gave her the note. So, Sammael (for now I think Sammael sent the gholam because he sent the gholam in Ebou Dar, and I assume they are the same one) had to find out about Fel's discovery through 'a Darkfriend on the inside.

To everyone who thinks that Taim read the note from Fel to Rand after the incident with the grey man It didn't happen, the note that Rand dropped was from that chick over in who knows where, LoC 197 hardback. Aliandre whatever, the queen I think of Ghealden. No theory here, just a little clarification, Taim never saw the letter to Rand from Fel.
