uon, The Daughter

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Who is the Daughter of the Nine Moons?

First, Mat is alive because Egwene dreams of Mat standing naked and bound with his spear thrust across his back behind his elbows andsince this has not happened, Mat must be alive. Mat will be taken as a prisoner of the seanchan and since Mat is an unusual prisoner(he possesses a power wrought blade with two ravens on it and a medallion that deflects theone power) he will be brought to a person in power for interrogation. One of Egwene's dreams has Mat "wrestling with a Seanchan woman who ties an invisible leash to him". I believe that this leash is just a development ofaffection between Matt and the Seanchan woman. I think that Mat's interrogatoror the person overseeing the interrogation will fall in love with Mat. I am not sure whether the two ravens that alight on his shoulders are the tatoos of ownership or if they are two different Seanchan women who are interested in young Mat(like Perrin's falcon and hawk). It should be noted that Jordan mentioned the two ravens on Matt's shoulders in the same statement that he mentiones Perrin's two birds. This could be coincidence or a hint that Mat's birds are like Perrin's. Since Mat is supposed to tie the Seanchan to Rand it only confirms my theory that the woman that Mat meets is powerful. Who could commit the entire forces of Seanchan except a woman of the royal blood. Therefore, based on this I think that the DNM is the Empress' daughter, Tuon.

Okay, will Tuon be a Seanchan Rebel? Or do you believe that she will lead the Seanchan forces against Rand. Or will she just be a bystander, is she in Tremalking with Lady Suroth?

She will not be a rebel, she may lead the Seanchan forces, she will not be a bystander, and she is either in Tremalking or is on her way. Those are my answers to your questions and now to tell you why I feel that way. I have stated why I feel that the DoNM is Tuon and now I believe that a possible explanation of how RJ will join Mat and Tuon is needed. First,we have the Lady Suroth in Tremalking leading the remnants of "The Return" forces. She states that she is worried that the Empress will send another ofthe blood to check on her progress and if things are going poorly then possibly take her place. It should be pointed out that RJ is a fan of history and that these kinds of tasks were usually undertaken by the kings sons(or in this case the empress' daughter). Now, we know that the empress probably suspects what has happened at Falme because of one of Suroth's statements. She says that she gathered in as many of the fleeing army that she could but that she could have missed some(I didn't feel like looking up the actual quote butthis is close). This is typical RJ foreshadowing and this indicates to me that the Empress knows what has happened and that she will send Tuon with reinforcements or an army to Tremalking. Once there she will obviously eliminate Suroth for incompetence, and either meet Matt on Tremalking or lead the forces onward to somewhere on Almoth Plain. Once there she will meet the"interesting prisoner" Matt and eventually she will fall in love(obviously she will be causing all kinds of havoc until then). Once that happens Matt's tavereness will kick in and she will agree to a meeting with the most powerful man in Randland, and between Matt and Rand's tavereness working together some type of agreement will be reached. Now as a side note the Seanchan scout that overhears Matt and thinks that if the DoNM was coming then the light would surely grant them victory. I think that the scout thinks of the royal house as godlike and has complete faith in her ability. Indications of this blind faith is seen after Rand defeats the Seanchan blademaster at Falme and everyone else in the house kills themselves(that's devotion!). Also, as has been stated before it could also mean that the man knew who she was and that if she was coming, she would be comong with reinforcements.

Thanks for getting back to me...you said that you thought the scout thinks of the royal family as godlike, couldn't it be that the DONM is a prophesied savior of Seachan or Sea Lore? Just a thought.
