he Seanchan Princess

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Who is the Daughter of the Nine Moons?

K, The Daughter of the Nine Moons is the Seanchan princess. Why you ask? well,

1.)she can't be Lanfear because Mat strikes me as not being that stupid. I mean come on, would YOU marry a Forsaken?
2.)in one book while mat was in Ebou Dar, he asked the barmaid if she was the Daughter of the Nine Moons, and a man he was playing dice with recognized the name, and began to think of the court of the Nine Moons and the Empress, and also in an earlier book one of the Seanchan Says something about the Empress exiling her own son and... .....DAUGHTER!!!

So would the Daughter of the Ruler of the Court of the Nine Moons not likely be called the Daughter of the Nine Moons? (which is a lot easier to say)And it is possible that not being a princess anymore the daughter could have found herself a common soldier in her mothers army? or even a Sul'dam? which we know both were left behind at Falme, so it is possible that The daughter of the Nine Moons is alive and well in the Realm of the dragon.(randland) and will meet Mat when he is dug out of the rubble of Ebou Dar and have pity for him, and stop his execution by revealing herself as the Princess of the Seanchan, which the soldiers would still respect to some degree, and that act would endear her to him, and we all know how Mat is with the ladies, so that could be their whole story, and the Empress may want to meet the man judged worthy of her daughter, have her brought back from exile, and meet Mat, who would tell her of the Prophecies of the Dragon as he knows them, and convince the Empress to Join Rand rather than fight against him. This is just my opinion, but I think it is definetly POSSIBLE, but I won't accept it as gospel until we meet the Daughter of the Nine Moons.

The only problem I have is with the Seanchan joining forces with Rand or Mat. They are here to take back what was rightfully theirs and I don't see any prophecies getting in their way. But the idea itself is great.

The Daughter of the Nine Moons is the heir to the Seanchan throne. In book four SR, the Seanchan noblewomen Suroth who in GH revealed herself as a darkfriend refers to the "Court of the Nine Moons" in the Seanchan homeland in regards to the empress. Obviously the DONM is like the Daughter Heir of Andor(perhaps some remnant of the Hawkwing era) heir to the throne of Seanchan.

In Tear Mat finds out that he is destined to marry the daughter of nine moons. So I wondered what that could be, and on one of my rereads of the series I found on page 498 in the Great Hunt that Lord Turak makes a comment about the Seanchan court, which he calls nine moons. And the daughter of nine moons must therefore be the Seanchan empress.

Turak: "At the court of nine moons, in seandar."
This is the strongest proof of this I can find, but there is one more thing: Mat always ask people if they have heard about the daughter of nine moons and everyone says no, why is that? It's because she isn't in the same land as she, she's in Seanchan!!
