Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Rand and the Last Battle

A great deal of comment has been made regarding several elements of prophecy relating to the last battle. In particular everyone hits on the lines "Twice to Live and Twice to Die" regarding Rand's brands/dragons, and "Twice Dawns the day when he shall die" (I might have that one a little wrong.) At any rate, I think what's going to happen is this: On the day of the last battle, early on, Rand will in fact die. Moiraine, who at this point has been conveniently rescued, will use balefire on the one who killed him (maybe Demandred) and thus wipe time back to a point when the sun can rise again, with Rand alive and ready to roll. This explains both the double dawns, his blood on the rocks, and twice to live/die. We know that people can be resurrected through the use of balefire because of Rahvin's death, and this series of events could also explain why Min's prophecy regarding Rand's need of Moiraine at Tarmon Gaidon makes sense.

So for Rand, he will have seen the Dawn twice hence the prophecy...something to think on.
