t Stems From His Origin

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Who is Shaidar Haran?

The topic is Shadar Haran's origin.
First, some say that Shadar Haran is a Gholam but he cant such because Demandred didnt recognize him, and he would have definitely recognized one of only six creatures that he played a part in the creation of. Now my theory.
This may be a bit far-fetched, but here goes. We know that Mydra'al are sterile, as this was told to Jaichim Carradin(shame on me for not knowing where) but what if they aren't? What if it is just some genetic thing that makes them unable to reproduce with other species. All the Mydra'al we have seen are male, but what if a female was born, and it was discovered that fades could reproduce with their own kind? And the offspring is Shadar Haran(twice the Mydra'al genes = Super Fade). As to why, if this is so, we havent seen any others, maybe the mother died in childbirth, or maybe the younger ones arent mature yet, as we dont know how old any fade is, or how long it takes them to achive maturity. One side question: Fades are throwbacks to the human stock that used to create trollics, and if there are such, there must be throwbacks to the animal stock also. I seem to vaugely recall it saying somewhere that those didnt sirvive long after birth, but I could be wrong.

Interesting, you are definitely right about his makeup. He isn't like the rest of the mydrraal we have seen up to this point, so very possibly his conception was different, good point.
