Barn Burner

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: What is Rand's Next Move?

Between the Seanchan landing at the end of aCoS and the title of the next book (not to mention the cover, with Rand leading what appears to be a large army), I think everyone agrees that the PoD will deal in large part with the (2nd) Return. The bloody hand prophesy still has to be realized, also, and I for one believe that Rand will have the a'dam bracelet placed on him in PoD, which means that Elayne has to be there to chop off his hand (axe) and cauterize the wound (hot poker). Looks like Rand, and the Illianers, Andorans, Aiel and Cairhienen (Tairen, maybe, but Illianers and Tairens together may be a big probelm) will be going to Ebou Dar, or the vicinity, in this book to try to throw back the Seanchan. Mat will also find out who the DotNM is, and may bring that prophesy, for lack of a better word, to fruition. His marriage, either in PoD or the subsequent book, will be instrumental in ending the Seanchan threat. I also believe that Rand will some how bring! the Seanchan into the ranks of his troops (there's a prophesy regarding his binding them to his will, or something like that, but I can't remember - help, anyone?). All in all, it's beginning to look like PoD will be a barn burner.

I agree, war will be rampant across the land and good ole Mat is stuck in Ebou Dar(for now). That kind of sucks. I wonder if Perrin will show himself as a great general also?

I agree with one of the previous that this will be a barn burner. From reading the prologue, all of the borderlands have joined against Rand and seem to be setting off to find him....leaving a nice open entry for an amassing army of Trolocs whom haven't been attacking lately. There are two problems for Rand already, plus the sisters who are going to attack the black tower and will find quite a surprise. I also believe that the Seanchan will attack the white tower and that Rand and the Aiel will have to save the Aes Sedai and the white tower. This will fulfill the Aiel having to serve the Aes Sedai once more or be slaughtered.....(by the Seanchan) Who better to discover this than Egwene when she arrives at the tower, she can contact the Wise Ones in the dream to let them know what is happening so they can come to the Rescue. Matt will be taken to the Seanchan Daughter of the Nine moons due to his staff with the Ravens (ravens associated with Seanchan) All this will be happening at once and Rand may come to the realization that he is not in control of what is happening around him.
