Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Miscellaneous Theories

Just some thoughts and unanswered questions, after reading through the first 7 books of WoT. I'm hoping someone can offer some answers, or I can at least pique some people's curiosity.

Well, for starters, remember the time Egwene had to go through the ter'angreal for the Accepted's Test? And the ter'angreal had some violent reaction? Something about unstable resonances be'cos another related ter'angreal was near. Egwene had Corianin Nedeal's ring in her pouch at that time, which would mean that Tel'aran'rhiod and the world beyond the ter-angreal are somewhat related.

Second, I apologize for the lack of a quotation or citation here, but I remember distinctly something that Graendal said once. I think it was a private thought of hers right after she met Sammael in her Arad Doman palace. She said (thought) that her philosophy in life was a place for everyone and everything (witness her legions of slaves). Now strike me blind if some Seanchan person, a sul-adam or s'redit keeper, hasn't mentioned something along the same lines. It seems too similar to be just a random coincidence. I'll wager Graendal and the Seanchan are connected in some strange way.

Okay, lastly, remember that little business that Graendal had with Sammael when he visited her in her palace. And she had some Shara people with her. The Sh'botay or whatever. For some hidden purpose, both she and Sam mentioned. Well, anybody has any idea what that purpose is?? I can't for the life of me figure out what. Besides which, can anyone explain the really weird customs the Shara have? For myself, I can only guess that maybe they have their own prophecy regarding Rand as well, not to mention a kooky new name for the Dragon aka Cara'carn aka Coramoor.

Well, that's all from me, but I'll like to hear some views on these things.

In regards to your first question. I believe(some thoughts I had when I was writing one of my personal theories called "The Third Constant") that you are correct in assuming a connection between the ring and also the ter'angreals. It is my belief(although unsubstantiated) that the ter'angreals used for testing access Mirror Worlds or possible the Dream World(the Dream World is through all of these worlds). That somehow, through the ter'angreal, the person becomes themselves in these Worlds. That the same Aes Sedai that made the Portal Stones had something to do with these ter'angreal(or their research did). Your second and third questions, I would have to lean more towards Shara. That Graendal has some type of connection with them, I don't believe she does with the Seanchan. Good questions, anyone else have any responses?
