Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Miscellaneous Theories

We're all wondering the importance of Logain, and whether or not Taim is Demandred. After finishing PoD, not much has been actually answered. We see Logain re-introduced in the very end. Taim upset with the rebellion by some Asha'man against Rand, and Rand with Callandor again. It was said that the one who drew Callandor after, would "follow" wether that meant in power, as to being a second Dragon, or meant following him as the Aes Sedai do, thats kind of shady. We know for a fact that Logain is destined for glory, as per two viewings by Min. We can also assume that Rand may die, per Egwenes dream, and one of Mins viewings ( "two" of Rand, one is surely going to die ) And, we dont quite know what Taims status is. I'll touch on Rand dying first.

Death of the Dragon
Rand Al'thor is the Dragon Reborn, there is no question about it. Prophecy could be manipulated so that all of the acts that he is fulfilling is only to herald the "Dragon Reborn" which some may argue could be Logain. Rand has Lews Therin's "soul" if you will, inside of him. Rand has been acknowledged by Artur Hawkwing as LTT, and all of the forsaken see him as LTT/Rand al'Thor. For Rand to die and come back would be the ultimate in prophecy. If Rand dies, he WILL be brought back. Here's how. If LTT exists in Rand's head, and Rand is LTT reborn, it would be safe to assume that LTT is tied to the wheel through Tel'aran'rhiod, as the heroes of the horn are. If LTT is not tied to the wheel through the Horn, then Rand surely is, because even though Rand is LTT reborn, there is a defenite split in souls, and Rand is a new Soul now tied to the Wheel. If Rand dies, logic would be that his soul would go into the wheel. LTT's soul coul be picked up by the DO and put into another body, we know the DO can do that, but does the soul have to be part of the shadow to do so? The point is, its LTT that the DO is after, not Rand. Rands soul, going to the wheel, is now available for rebirth. Remember what Moghiden did to Birgitte? If Heroes of the horn can be torn from the dream, Rand can be torn also. So most likely it would be Egwene to bring him back, and Elayne to bond him ( or Elayne could bring him back.. she did see Moghiden do this ) Now, we have the Dragon Reborn, Reborn. And, we may have LTT brought to the shadow.... More on this another time...

Goldeneyes, I am still not sure how you consider Rand to have two souls? If you are someone reborn, you are that soul reborn. Your new memories are apart of that souls history. LTT is Rand. When this life is over for Rand, there can only be one soul. Unless I just don't get the whole reincarnation idea presented by RJ? Just a thought.
