Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: The Fisher King

Something that I would like to say is concerning the Arthurian comment. I happen to study that quite particular topic and I have something important to add. The Fisher is a character from Arthurian legend too. He is a person who was wounded in a battle and was healed by the woman that he loved. The wound was so great that it remained, and the healing was so powerful that the Fisher King, as he came to be called, became immortal. Consequetly, it was in the Shrine of the Fisher King that the knights of the round table found the Holy Grail. Some fairly strong correlations can be drawn about what is going to happen to Rand when you consider RJ's love for following his history. Also other names from Arthur include Elaine and Nineve. Two more main RJ characters. Morgause was also a queen in Arthur's time. Some fairly strange stuff. I could probably keep going, but this point is boring me, so I can't imagine what it is doing to all of you.

Actually, I didn't know most of what you mentioned above so it certainly wasn't boring. The whole symbolic issue about the 'Fisher' that Moridin speaks of is intriguing. The better we understand what symbolism RJ might be using, the better we will understand the fate of Rand and those around him. Thanks.
