An Hour With Harriet

2012-04-30: I had the great pleasure of speaking with Harriet McDougal Rigney about her life. She's an amazing talent and person and it will take you less than an hour to agree.

Ok... first time submitting so bear with me. I am re-reading the series for the second time and hope to finish before that magical date of Jan 7th. But as I read the final battle between Rand and Ravhin in TFOH something stuck me as little weird. Rand balefires Ravhin and brings Mat back to life who had died about lets say 30 mins before. Now Rand erased what happend due to Ravhin because of that. But, the injuries he got remained behind.

Specifically the fish trap which turned the air to water and fish like pihranas came at Rand and started taking pieces out of him. Like I said before Rand balefired Ravhin so those injuries should be gone because Ravhin set the trap and his pattern got burned back about 30 mins so Rand should be fine. But Nyneve had to heal him of the fish bites. Whats up with that? Was their someone else their taking hits at Rand? Another Forsaken? Or did RJ just make a fluke? Help would be welcome dearly.

Thanks a lot.

Some people suggest this is proof that Graendal was around, that Graendal did it, and that she killed Asmodean. But I think the more generally believable theory is that Rhavin messed with T'A'R to make the fish thing happen, and that since they occurred by those means, they were not changed by balefire. I think Jordan has answered a question regarding this situation but I can't remember the details.

I never thought about that before, but I think it has to do with the nature of TAR. TAR is a world where beliefs are real. Rand had memories, and therefore believed, he was injured, therefore he was. When Nynaeve Healed him, he stopped believing he was injured and therefore was uninjured.

Jeez... this is just a case of me wasting your peoples time with my lack of doing back info before asking questions. Tamyrlin you are correct RJ did state that this was NOT on of the Forsaken its just a thing that sometimes happens when people get balefired in TAR. Sorry guys and girls.

Didn't waste my time =) I rarely read the interviews, so you had me thinking until I scrolled down. On the same track, I have probably wasted your time as well with some of the crack pot things I post on here lol.
