Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Is Taim Demandred?
When Taim first comes to Caemlyn in LoC he gives Rand one of the 7 seals. There is no way that one of the Forsaken would ever give the Dragon one of the seals. think about it, no matter how bad the DO wants to turn Rand to his side it could not be worth giving up one of the seals that keep him locked up, to think that he would rather gain the DR's trust for one of his minions then weaken the block is ludicrous. Hell, Rand doesn't expect people to just walk in and hand him a seal Taimandred wouldn't have had to give him one to become the m'hael at the BT. Taim's story could easily be legit, if you had a seal (and knew what the hell it was) who better to give it to then the person you thought was the Dragon Reborn. Then you've got his reaction when Rand almost breaks it. He was shocked, he "looked like a man who felt a cliff unexpectedly crumbling under him" (p.g. 99 LoC).
