lright, heres the plan

by Anubis: 2003-04-10 | Not yet rated

Previous Categories: Lord Rodel Ituralde's Plans

Alright, heres what we know about the wolfs plan. He needs the dragonsworn to participate, but does not need their oaths. He needs the taraboners and they are vital to his plan. He plans on having taraboner companies disguised as seanchan ride across the almoth plain (the plain of no fun), he will go with also with hand chosen men similarily disguised. Then, all in one day, the fake troops will slap the seanchan full across the face. The taraboners will want to stay to retake their country, that is fine. Rodel retreats back across the plain hopefully followed by lost an angry seanchan.

thats all the stuff we know from the prologue. Now time fer a bitta speculation.

The dragonsworn, he doesnt need their oaths, so they are prolly going into the meat grinder.

The aiel. He coments mentally that aiel are supreme fighters, that no army has ever beaten an army of aiel. They may have a part to play.

The lords loyal to him are all hidden, and avoiding kings messengers.

Oh, and he says that he plans on making the seanchan bite so fast they hit bone.

Heres what i think is gonna happen. After the b**ch slapping. he is going to lure the seanchan into a some combination of the dragonsworn, the aiel, and his loyal troops in their well defendable positions.

How do you have a very defendable position...that looks so atractive that the Seanchan will bite on it without thought? This better come up in the next book...or I will just wait until the following book.

Perhaps, perhaps the wolf plans on luring the seanchan into the mix that perrins in, w/ dragonsworn, aiel, whitecloaks, and perrin's army. THis mix, we know alredy, is very dangerous. First we have a large group of insane dragonsworn, totaly unpredictable. THen we have a large remanent of whitecloaks, who hate both dragonsworn and perrin. THen we have perrin's small army, which, while being the only unvoulitile group, has power-weilders and can kik butt.

Most importantly, we have an enormous group of shaido, who follow an insane wise-woman hell bent on getting gai shain and maryying rand. the worse thing is, thay all hate each other. any army that would join that group would be ripped to shreds. The only problem is, i have no idea how rodel would know of this anyway.

he seems to think that the seanchan will follow him. it seems like a possibility really. they arent the kind of people who would let that slide. if it looks like hes running to the mountains to hide then they might follow, and the combination of crap on the plain might make them send a large force. thats all i can come up with

I read a post that said he was planning on luring the Seanchan to a stedding to negate the OP in battle. That sounded a good plan to me.

i completely agree with this theory. the only point i have to add is that the defendable position he is luring them to is undoubtedly an ogier stedding. the steddings in the mountains of mist are: Chinden, Jinsuin, Madan, Shangloon, Tsofan and Yandar. he will know these negate cahnneling and use that as a counter to the damane.

So the theory is that Ituraldes plan is to make all of his secret **Seanchan** attack on the same day, make them know who it was, then lure them into the mountains of mist into an ogier stedding, to negate the OP channeling of the damane, so they can fight on basically even ground....

I can't remember where but Ive heard the same idea and I still like it. It seems just the thing for a great general to think of, and has lots of room for change and alterations which he hints at at the end of the section.

Faction time I think.

Good but unfortunatley stupid idea of him in that case. Wouldn't the ogier's in that stedding be slightly offended and maybe finally getting a bit angry and possibly kick his but for using violence in their precious stedding?

Callandor, the plan that incorporates the Stedding is in fact in the same theory post Category.

Plan sounds good. Put me down for the faction.

I love it. And yes, it must be a stedding. Oh I will be anxiously awaiting with Tamyrlin and the rest of you for this to come up... (rubbing hands together)

Gird, it doesn't have to be an inhabited stedding. Remember there are empty steddings, maybe not all over the place, but probably enough to suit the wolf's plan.
