Previous Categories: What do the colors that the ta'veren see mean?

The colors that matt sees everytime he mentions Rand of thinks of him are:

1. It was said Matt and Parrin had to be there for the Last Battle or Rand would fail and be killed.
2. Because of point number 1 I think that the Last Battle is near so those colors are warning signs to Matt to go to Rand as soon as possible, just like the pulling Perring had when he was in the Two Rivers.. I think sooner or later Perrin will also get the colors in his head when he thinks about Rand.
The Last Battle is coming soon, and those colors are warnings and pullings to the other 2 ta'veren to come to Rand's aid as soon as possible.

3. Rand may get into trouble in book 10 and Matt has to save him just like Perrin had to in LoC.

Before they were pulled together, now they don't want to think of the others because of the swirling colors in their heads. How could this possibly be pulling them back together?

If you have an annoying misquito buzzing around you what do you do if you cant stand it after a while? You take the quickest action and smack it. If Mat and Perrin keep getting annoyed by the colors, I myself would be driven nuts by it, and they put 2 and 2 together and figure that if they go to Rand, which is if thats what the colors mean, then that brings them together by annoying the crap out of them. Being a Ta'veren sucks then if you get annoyed more then a little sister :-P.

It's quite possible, also, that the annoying colors don't actually play much of a role in bringing them back together, but do go away when they come together. The reason for this could be explained at a later date, as is quite common.

It's certainly a possibility, but I'm not sure I'd want to put my money on it.

If the Pattern wants the ta'veren to come back together again, why wouldn't it do it in the same way that it used before? It seemed to work rather well with both Perrin and Mat to make them feel a strong need to be near Rand, so why would the Pattern bother developing a new trick to bring them together? Seems to make more sense that it is either supposed to do the opposite or something else altogether.

It's possible that Rand and Matt are influencing the Pattern more. When Matt thinks about Rand the Pattern is twisted and there is contact between the influence that they both have on the Pattern

I asked this over on dragonmount, but it makes sense here, too.

There is a theory going around about a "3rd Man." To my knowledge this is based on two things:

1) LTT saying something like 'we are destroyers; you, me, and the other one.'

2) Rand seeing a face he almost recognizes in his head

My question is, could this face that Rand sees actually be Mat or Perrin rather than LTT or some '3rd Man' in his mind? Mat and Perrin are both seeing Rand in their mind... isn't it possible that he saw one of them, too? I don't have books here to examine if it occurred in the same way as for the others (that is, Rand started thinking about one of his friends and then a few moments later saw the face).

Can anyone shed some light on this?
