areitha killed Adeleas

First of all, I have not yet read CoT so it is entirely possible that this have already been made clear. It is also possible, I suppose, that this have been floated before but to the best of my knowledge this is a original theory. Ok, here goes...
Directly after Adeleas was killed suspicion fell on the other Aes Sedai in the party. I believe this to be true. Now, in Winters Heart chapter 10 page 280 a group of Black Ajah in Caemlyn discuss how to enter the Palace, and I quote: "But there's a woman already in the Palace. She can do what you need. It may take time to make contact , though. [...] So. One of the sisters in the Palace was Black Ajah was she? She would have to be Aes Sedai, not just a Darkfriend, to do what Shiaine needed."
Now, the reason I suspect Sareitha is a casual thought Nynaeve has in the following chapter, page 289: "Sareitha was supposed to be here, not her, but the Brown had slipped out of the Palace leaving a note about an urgent errand in the city."
Not much to go on, I know but it still it makes one think.

I remember thinking the same thing, that it was a possibility. I have seen other theories that include more evidence for Sareitha, and I think they are right.

Isn't Sareitha the brown who is obsessed over the library there? if so, her disaperence can easily be explaned. After Crossroads, I think It's what's her name, the grey teacher, but I can't remember why.

i always thought any brown had a higher chance of being black purely because they dont care about good v bad, they want the knowledge from the aol and who better to provide it than those who lived through it

Most believe Reds are more commonly Black because 1) of numbers, and 2) the Reds dont have any Warders so the Black doesnt have to worry about him getting anything through the bond, or him not being a Darkfriend, or not killing him.

It was never stated that the darkfriend was Aes Sedi, just that she was in the palace and could channel. It is Alivia and if I remember right this is born out in WH while Rand is cleansing Sadin.

**It was never stated that the darkfriend was Aes Sedi, just that she was in the palace and could channel. It is Alivia and if I remember right this is born out in WH while Rand is cleansing Sadin.**
1. Mili Skane thinks to herself that it would "have to be a Black Ajah to do what she wished" (very close a direct quote, but if you want the actual quote, I can get it for you).
2. How would Marillin Gemalphin know who Alivia is?
3. It's obvious that the killer of Adeleas and Ispan is the same one that is being sought by Mili Skane for the job. Alivia was not with Elayne and co. when that event took place.
4. Temaile Kinderode reports that there are only 3 true Aes Sedai in the Palace. In reality, there are 4. This highly implies, that there is an actual Black Ajah with the 4 (since they would not be considered an "Aes Sedai" then by fellow Black Ajah).
All of this together points directly to there being a Black Ajah inside the Palace, not merely a Darkfriend channeler.
And, even if it is not a Black Ajah, Alivia wouldn't work anyway -- she's with Rand and co. now, not in Caemlyn anymore.

I was wrong about Aliva. It was Elza that is the darkfriend and this is born out by her POV in WH at Rand's cleansing of Sadin...

Yes, but what does Elza have to do with the Caemlyn plots or the death of Adeleas and Ispan? She's never been near either incident.

I think there is definitely something strange going on with Sareitha, but I have my heart set on Vandene, fo some strange inexplicable reason- I just think it would be more Jordanesque!

Vandene also seems to be a suspect because in tGH when Moraine is attacked by draghkar, she comes walking up right after the draghkar attacked Moraine and the draghkar was shielded at the time. Vandene doesn't even sound surprised and seems to know what Moraine is thinking. So in my mind that makes her suspect. And for comparison Adeleas is acting surprised and she sees it at the exact same time. So that's what makes me lean towards her being the murderer.

Without giving anything away, I'll rely on just the facts presented from the other books that in no way involve KoD, or anything about it :)
1. When Sareitha is delivering to the Sea Folk Windfinders her "lecture" on linking, and being able to force a woman into a circle against her will, Elayne notices a "subtle" change in her inflections, as if she meant to say something, but then left it out. She forgot about it later.
2. Kirstian and Zayra tell Vandene that the only one it COULD have been is Merillile, Caerene (? spelling) or Sareitha. It stand to reason that if they had pondered it enough to even "consider" that an Aes Sedai could BE Black (this IS the Kin after all!!), they probably would have entertained the notion that it "might" have been Vandene.
3. Vandene was already "busy" when Adeleas and Ispan were killed (remember, she came only after Lan fetched Nynaeve and Elayne.)
4. Sareitha was following Elayne the night of her "accident" that is mentioned in WH in "Snow", when Elayne and Aviendha had been in disguise and had been attacked. Too coincidental for anyone BUT a ta'veren (and even THAT is pushing it!): to be in the SAME place, watching it happen? Elayne was too embarrassed, but my first question would have been "What makes you say that?" and then "So why didn't you do anything?" A Sister can use the Power, or send her Warder for that matter, to protect another Sister, so if Elayne was in the danger that Sareitha laid out, why did she hesitate to help? Just to see if Elayne and Aviendha could handle things????
5. And then there is her "disappearances". She has excuses to slip of into the city, or the "Library" and so on entirely too much. It's like me being late to work. Sure I got stuck in traffic on the freeway a few times, but wouldn't that mean I should leave earlier? An excuse works a few times, but then it becomes simply just a way to wiggle out of the truth.

In CofT pp299-301 Sareitha praises then defends the DF Doilan Mellar.
