anfear, Slayer, and Asmodean

I think Slayer killed Asmo acting on orders from Lanfear. She may not have been able to predict where exactly Asmo would be, but she certainly would know he wouldnt be far from Rand. All the forsaken know Slayer (according to Slayer's POV in WH) and he seems to be at their beck and call. I think Lanfear doubted the wisness of allowing Rand to learn too much, she had commented earlier that she liked him better unsure of himself. She is also one of the few who knew Asmo would be sheilded and easy meat. Asmo would reconise Slayer, Lanfear had motive to order the killing, and the information regarding how to find him, and more importantly that he was sheilded and "easy meat".

Nice, I really like this idea since it goes along with my belief that Lanfear was behind Asmodean's death. Although I still wonder how Lanfear knew about the attack Rand was planning in time to set up something with Slayer. Unless slayer was trailing them the whole time waiting for a moment in which he could strike.

I have always thought it was slayer. After we hear his POV in Winter's Heart, we learn about the way he can step out of Tel'aran'rhiod as either Luc or Slayer, and that he had used this ability to kill countless people for the Dark, including the two Black Sisters in Tear. Lanfear's plan in restricting Asmodean's ability to channel and therefore forcing him to stay as Rand's teacher was only intended to help Rand progress to a certain level; she still wants to maintain an edge of superiority over him. Therefore, she had orders in place to kill Asmodean after a certain period of time.

Who is to say that Slayer is at the forsaken's beck and call? At the end of DFR it appears that Luc sent in all of those trollocs into the Two Rivers not at the behest of any forsaken, but at Padan Fain's request. In Fain's POV it states how he was hoping that Luc would bring in more trollocs, but he thought that it was needless anyway because he felt that the trolloc invasion served its puropose anyway. Which brings me to ask this... if Luc is at the beck and call of the forsaken, then why does he listen to Fain? We don't have any evidence that any of the forsaken know who he is, other than Ishamael, and I don't believe he turned into Moridin yet.

Slayer did not bring the trollocs to the two rivers at the request of Padin Fain. He mentions to Perrin that there was just enough to kill the renegade (Fain) and now that Perrin is there the two rivers will be black with them. It seems that the DO fears Fain almost as he does our three compadres.

How could Slayer kill Asmodean fast enough to have the word NO! remain in the air when **death took him**? In my mind it went like this.

Asmodean, while thinking about how Lanfear is dead, goes looking to get loaded and enters in a closet/store room and sees... who else? LANFEAR! And she kills him. Major thing is: Lanfear was in Finnland at this time. BUT! What if Lanfear asked to be able to kill Asmodean?

Now everybody says the Finn have a hard sense of humor. So, They let Lanfear be able to channel again, after she got stilled or whatever happend when she fell through the doorway. Then they drop her off in the palace right where Asmodean is. He shows up. Boom! She whacks him with a bar of Balefire in order to keep the word No! in the air.

But wait wait stop the presses. Lanfear dont get a free walk. The Finn take her back to Finnland once she kills him. Hence she doesnt need a secret way to get out: they took her out themselves. And Balefire destroys the body so Rand can still think that Asmodean ran away.

Never know but RJ says that the killer should be obvious RIGHT from when Asmodean dies. Dont you think its obvious for if your thinking idly about how someone you fear to death is gone and dead when you yourself get popped by them. HOW IRONIC!

Off my rant now. Thanks.

Well first slayer could not kill asmodean. He may have been shielded but he still had some ability to channel and could easily wrap him up in a flow of air. Second If it was lanfear i dont think it would be You? No! it would be You? How?
