Ok... This all started when I was looking back through TSR for Cain proofs and I came across something very strange to me.

In Chapter52, Need, on page 863 in paperback Nynaeve is talking to Bridgette when Cain comes along then they begin to talk like Nynaeve doesnt even exist, which I personally think is hillarious :-), and they bring up the Precepts and Cain says: “The precepts exist for a reason, Bridgette. Nothing but strife and trouble has ever come from breaking them.”

Now wait a second, I myself thought that Bridgette was the only one to break those and talk and help mortals. So who else did that? It has to be a Hero of the Horn otherwise they arent bound by the precepts or even stay in TAR when they die. So whats going on? Prolly just a stupid question but feedback would be nice. Thanks if you got any.

I never really noticed that Gaidal mentions similar meddling that Birgitte is participating in. I can only guess that a confrontation between the DO's minions in T'A'R and a Hero or two over the millenia has occurred because one of the Heroes decided to take an active role while awaiting rebirth. I would guess we don't have enough history to make a good theory about who may have been the meddler...but obviously Gaidal isn't happy about it so I would imagine it wasn't himself he was speaking about.

I never picked up on that before. My opinion is that it was bridgette who broke them before, in a previous turning of the wheel, causing something similar(but less drastic, or perhaps more :)) result from her meddling this time. A previous turning of the same age is probably so far back that bridgette wouldnt remember it even in TAR, and therefore her personality would make the same mistake again.

That sounds like it cold work but wasnt Bridgette supposed to be **ripped** from the Wheel by Moghidean? Would she still be considered a Hero of the Horn and be living in the TAR after she dies this time?? Dang brain thinking has me worried about Bridgette now :-(.

Hmm... Don't be so hasty in dismissing Gaidal Cain as the one who broke the precepts. We often remember the lessons we learned ourselves better, and feel greater certainty about them. At the same time we often try to forget that we were the ones who made the mistake, and refer to it as if a third person had done it.

Perhaps he broke the precepts and it resulted the same way as Birgitte. That is why he is older than her when he used to be younger.

I think Min stated that the man that was always connected with Birgitte was sometimes older and sometimes younger. No indication of how often he was older or younger. I agree that Gaidal Cain might have been the one to break the precepts. When? only the Creator(RJ) knows. :)

I think that when Moggy ripped Birgitte from T'A'R she was ripped from the wheel. This would certainlly fulfill her promise to Birgitte. She would then be reborn as a normal person, away from G.Cain. :(
