An Hour With Harriet

2012-04-30: I had the great pleasure of speaking with Harriet McDougal Rigney about her life. She's an amazing talent and person and it will take you less than an hour to agree.

smodeans Killer

by Sightburner: 2003-01-28 | Not yet rated

Previous Categories: Miscellaneous Theories

Instead of trying to tell you who Asmodeans killer is i'm just going to narrow it down.

Firstly, It is probuarly someone who can channel. My Reasons to this is that 1, If he/she was not able to channel Asmodean would just kill him/her. 2, It was a bit to quick for someone like Slayer to just stab him.

If i am right that narrows it down. Also It had to be someone he knew otherwise he would not of said "You, No" would he?

With those 2 points it has narrowed down to the basically only the Forsaken.

Aringor: Dead

Bathamal: Dead

Be'lal: Dead

Demandred:Unknown

Graendal:In Ebor Dar i think

Ishamael: Dead

lanfear:Dead

Mesaana:In the White Tower

Moghedien:Captured

Rahvin:Dead

Sammael: In Illian at the time.

Semirhage: Unknown

Mazrim Taim: Suprisely in Andor at the time.

All this makes me, personally to point a huge nasty finger at Mazrim Taim. Why would he be in Andor at the time? He escaped from Aes Sedia in Ghealdan didn't he so why go to Andor, a country when the Queen was favourable of Aes Sedia and not Amadica where Aes Sedia are hated. If not than maybe to Semirhage but she would probuarly torture Asmodean before hand or perhaps Demandred. Who knows?

Thank you for Reading

Graendal is not in Ebou Dar. She too is unaccounted for. And how would Asmodean know Taim. We do not meet Taim until after Asmodean is already dead. RJ said the killer is obvious and someone we had already met at this point in the story. That eliminates Taim. That also eliminates Semirhage as we have not "met" her at this point.

You said that it would have to be someone to make Asmodean say You? No!

Now would Asmodean even KNOW who Taim is? I highly doubt it since the readers really only knew that he was in Andor on his way to Rand.

And Lanfear we have no idea if she could have used a wish to knock off Asmodean or whatever happend to her, but she was most likely not dead (if she ever did really die by the Finns) at that point. Remember she was thrown into Finnland on the same day Asmodean died.

Jordan has stated that the evidence is there in the books and you should be able to deduce who killed him from the latest books (although I haven't read CoT, so I can't comment there. Damn Australia's release date...).

I always thought that the killer must be someone who can channel and that they are someone that Asmodean recognises and fears. I also think that he was hit by Balefire too since no body or any hint of murder was found.

Mazrim Taim could be a good suspect, except for:

Does Asmodean knows who Mazrim Taim is? Evidence doesn't say that he does.

Also Mazrim doesn't know what balefire is.

Why didn't Rand feel the charge of Saidin?

If these things can be proved, then Mazrim would be a great suspect.(especially since he was in Caemlyn at the time and would have felt enormous amounts of saidin being discharged).

My opinion is that it was one of the forsaken since:

a) They can channel

b) Asmodean would have recognised and soiled his pants over seeing them

c) Someone who knows balefire

I think the most likely suspects are:

Cyndane/Lanfear

Graendal

The other forsaken in their PoV have shown that they don't know whether or not Asmodean has been killed.

I think it will be something that will never be enlightened...

Isn't this in the wrong category?

What does Asmodean's killer have to do with Moiraine's location?

UNLESS . . . (see my new theory)

Jeebus, Lanfear/Cyndane are almost definetly not out yet of Finnland and if anyone thinks taim is Demandred (i don't) than it could be Taim. Also i do not have a real veiw on who killed him i'm just trying to help everyone else to try and think about it. It could be Thom for all we know actually i've got a theory on Thom coming up.

Which of the forsaken would have reason to be in Caemlyn? Up until that day, Caemlyn was the realm of Rahvin, and the forsaken were very careful not to tread on each other's territory unless invited.

Since it is unlikely that any of the forsaken knew of Rahvin's demise at this point, it is likely that it would have been a forsaken there on routine business, who, surprised at the new circumstances, sized up the situation and took action.

I can only think of three forsaken who would have reason to visit Rahvin: the members of their little clique, namely Lanfear, Graendal, and Sammael.

Lanfear: is either dead or busy. Sammael: ignorant of Asmodean's fate, and raging that he would kill Asmodean if he could but find him.

Graendal: no alibi, no exonerating pov, and trying to convince Sammael of Asmodean's death while pointing the finger at LTT.

I suspect Graendal.
