reams of the end

Read these quotes, all from Egwene:
"Elayne, forcing him (Rand) to his knees with one hand. Elayne and Min and Aviendha, sitting in a silent circle around him, each in turn reaching out to lay a hand on him. Him walking toward a burning mountain, something crunching beneath his boots. She stirred and whimpered; the crunching things were the seals on the Dark One's prison, shattering with his every step."
Lord of Chaos (358)
"Rand as tall as a mountain, walking through cities, crushing buildings beneath his feet, with screaming people like ants fleeing from him. Rand in chains, and it was he who was screaming. Rand building a wall with him on one side and her on the other, her and Elayne and others she could not make out. 'It has to be done,' he was saying as he piled up stones. 'I'll not let you stop me now.'"
The Shadow Rising (207)
"She stood before an immense wall, clawing at it, trying to tear it down with her bare hands. It was not made of brick or stone, but countless thousands of discs, each half white and half black, the ancient symbol of the Aes Sedai, like the seven seals that had once held the Dark One's prison shut. Some of those seals were broken now, though not even the One Power could break cuendillar, and the rest had weakened somehow, but the wall stood strong however she beat at it. She could not tear it down. Maybe it was the symbol that was important. Maybe it was the Aes Sedai she was trying to tear down, the White Tower."
A Crown of Swords (249-251)
Rand is walking toward the DO's prison, destroying the seals with every step. Rand builds a wall with him on one side and her and Elayne and others on the other side. Egwene tearing at a wall that is made of the seals. The wall is not simply the cold shoulder. I think Rand may battle the DO by releasing him first, then entering the prison. Why else destroy the seals- you are either letting someone out or putting someone in. Maybe the DO's prison can only be sealed from the inside. In the last quote, Egwene wants to think she is tearing at Aes Sedai or the White Tower, but I don't think she is. Some of the symbols are broken- which indicates the seals. A great wall of seals and she wishes to break in to save Rand, because he is dying in the DO's prison.

So, does she find out that Rand is going to go break the seals to get to the DO, going to Shayol Ghul? She finds out that it is a trap, but can't get to Rand unless she breaks the last Seal...which can't be broken. But how do you explain Rand crushing cities? He was seen in the Air above Falme and he was seen by all of the troops in TEoTW. Does the DO or the Seanchan or somebody get control over Rand, using him to cause great destruction, and they use him to find and destroy the seals? Can you find any additional quotes that may give us some insight as to whether Egwene will be with him or against him? Whether or not it will be his decision or whether or not he is being controlled? Just some thoughts.

I like this idea. But one thing, when Rand breaks the seals to enter the DOs prison, then wouldn't the DO take that time to escape? I find it hard to believe that he would just sit around and wait for Rand to enter, so maybe that is the Rand crushing towns, a massive battle to force the DO back into the prison, so he can go in and seal them both in.

I've been wondering about that too. Here's another of Egwene's dreams:
"(Rand) walking down into a great hole in a black mountain, a hole filled with a reddish glare from vast fires below." (tDR p.290)
It is also possible to interpret the Aiel prophecy "under this sign (the ancient sign of the Aes Sedai) he will conquer." (tGH p.409) to mean that he will conquer under the seals, which are the same ancient sign.
Maybe the seals sort of patch the top of the Bore, and Rand will have to find a way to go under then and seal the Bore from the bottom up.

The **he will conquer under the sign** prophacy more likely means that Rand will rule much if not all the world and use that sign as his sigil along with the Dragon sign, which he seems to be already doing since people are already calling the ancient banner the Banner of Light.

Rand has to break the seals on the DO's prison in order to seal him back properly. The seal that has been in place is flawed do to the fact only Saidin was used. This time around Rand will team up with some one (pick a femal who can channel) and seal the DO back. Remember the prison must be sealed properly in order for the Age of Legends to come back around.

im pretty sure the 'he will conquer under the sign' prophecy means that he will use a united black and white tower (aes sedai like in the age of legends) to conquer in tarmon gai'don, or mabye even in battles leading to it.

The "under this sign he will conquer" part reflects the Roman emperor Constantine's conversion to Christianity. He was fighting a battle and had a vision of the crucifix, and a voice saying "in this sign, conquer". He then converted the entire roman empire to Christianity.
I realise that this isn't particularly relevant, but maybe it means that the quote about the AS sign just means that it's a new "direction" for Randland to go in - increased respect to an older sign.

The straightforward interpretation of the 'under this sign he will conquer' is the Constantine reference- this is true. But prophecies are not always straightforward. How ironic if he is under the seals: actually in the bore to place seals over his head, in a fashion.

Wow I really like this theory! I like the idea of Rand walking alone down into the Bore to take the fight right to Shai'tan.

The part with Elayne, Min, and Aviendha sounds like it's saying that they will bond him to be their warder. which, of course, has already happened. The part with him going to shayol ghul, crunching the seals, means that as the conflict with the DO gets nearer some act or another of his causes the seals to break. He might even decide to break them, like Herid Fel said to clear away the rubble.

I think that during the LB while the trolloc attacks are going on, Rand will end up wiping out whole cites, refering to him crushing the buildings and everything. The part where he builds a wall, is because he knows that his enemies will go for someone he loves, so he tries to keep them away by building a sort of wall.

I think i agree that she is trying to get to rand, who is already in the prison, sealed in to tell him that he'll be trapped. I also think that Rand will have already figured this out.
At least, thats what i think of when i read those sections.

The Shadow Rising (207)**
Rand as tall as a mountain is refering to Rand being able to become a monster to people I think. And the wall is just the way Rand was feeling toward anybody at the time. He didnt want to be LTT and kill all his closest friends and kin.
