I hadn't made the connection before, but if Moiraine is still alive (which she has to be...see my other posting), then the only way she can leave is either by escaping through Tel'aran'rhiod, or dealing with the foxes for a way out (i.e. Mat dealed for a way out) Pg. 282 (The Shadow Rising) '"Burn your souls! You are as bad as Aes Sedai. Well, I want a way to be free of Aes Sedai and the Power, and I want _a way to be away from you and back to Rhuidean_, if you willnot answer me--" "Done," another man said, and one of the women echoed,"Done." Mat scanned the walls, then glared, turning to take them all in, standing there up on their pedestals staring down at him. "Done? What is done? I see no door. You lying goat fathered--" "Wise to ask leavetaking, when you set no price, no terms." "Yet fool not to first agree on price." "We will set the price."' The way that Finnland works for the foxes is that you get three requests (I'm not sure of the limits) and pay a price. For instance, Mat comes in, and sees a fox wearing clothes made from human hide. The human hide was probably a price that a person payed for his/her requests. It is possible for moiraine deal for a way out, but she didn't, because we haven't seen her yet. Therefore, her being smarter than Mat, she either refused to make any deals until she knew exactly what the situation was, or she tried to escape through Tel'aran 'rhiod. She knows little of Tel', and Birgitte told Perrin that it was virtuallyimpossible to escape from the Tower of Ghenjei through tel''aran'rhiod. The only way that moiraine has a chance of escaping is to deal her way out. One other thought...Isn't it strange that Lanfear had never been through the doorway before...She is the kind to want Power, so the doorway that gives you three wishes would be perfect for her. So why didn't she go? She might have wished for Lews Therin, or something, but she never went. Maybe the Aes Sedai who can channel have already been blessed (or damned, for men) with the ability to channel, the are forbidden to go through the doorway with the penalty of stilling. That would be cool...moiraine and Lanfear stilled in Finnland, with no way put but through dealing with the foxes.
